DESCRIPTION: Our gardneri are from an interesting variety that we witnessed growing wild in Hawaii. It started off being grown by a few nurseries and Tillandsia enthusiasts in O'ahu, but due to the great growing conditions there, it has spread to growing on walls, rocks, and even telephone poles! It was very cool to see. This is a delicate feeling plant with very soft leaves. You'll notice this variety tends to have a silver/deep purple color when exposed to high light.
Because of the plant's lightweight nature and shape, it is a great choice for being mounted on wood or other media.
NOTE: This plant has very thin, feathery leaves and has a darker coloration when wet which can be confused for a health issue. Rest assured, it is a totally natural feel and color for the species
