Phytoseiulus persimilis – Specialist Predator for Spider Mite Outbreaks

This predator is best used when spider mites are already visible. It actively hunts spider mite eggs, nymphs, and adults and is used directly on infested plants with direct contact on infested plants.

What it’s made from

  • Visible spider mites: especially when webbing is already present.
  • Focused outbreaks: where spider mites are clearly the main pest.
  • Warm, more humid rooms: it performs better when the air is not very dry.

Setup and use

  • Release it directly onto affected plants and near visible webbing.
  • Use the included release boxes to spread the mites where activity is strongest.
  • Apply promptly after arrival for best results.
  • Repeat if the infestation remains heavy.

Final notes

  • Best range: roughly 18–30 °C
  • Humidity: performs better in more humid air than in hot, dry conditions
  • Prey needed: it is a specialist and does not keep going in the same way once spider mites are gone

Practical note

  • Not for aphids, thrips, whiteflies or mealybugs.
  • Not the best fit for dry, overheated rooms if humidity stays very low.

Practical setup

Use it early, while pest pressure is still manageable. Consistent placement and timing matters more than changing products frequently.

Combine with basic hygiene: remove heavily damaged leaves, isolate affected plants, and check neighbouring pots so you treat the full area.

Materials & finish

  • Follow the product instructions for placement and temperature range.
  • Avoid spraying oils or soaps on release days unless the supplier confirms compatibility.
  • Repeat checks weekly until new damage stops.

A Fun, Repetitive Book That Keeps Kids Engaged
Format: Board book
Dear Zoo has become a go-to read during playtime because the lift-the-flap feature keeps my baby actively involved. The simple storyline and repetition make it easy for young children to follow and anticipate what’s coming next. Pros: Lift-the-flap design encourages interaction and curiosity Repetitive text helps with early language development Short and engaging—great for babies and toddlers Sturdy board book holds up well Cons: Flaps can bend if handled roughly Very simple story, so older toddlers may outgrow it Conclusion: Dear Zoois a classic interactive book that works especially well for younger children.
